HOPE Bushbuckridge gets the 'go ahead'

The newly started HOPE Bushbuckridge, a project that empowers and supports the community through HIV Education and mobilization was given the permission to proceed with its activities by the local authorities in Bushbuckridge area.

The newly started HOPE Humana People to People project in Bushbuckridge was given the full consent by the local authorities in Bushbuckridge to carry out its much needed services to the community living in Bushbuckridge. 

The idea of the project is to reduce the prevalence of HIV and Aids among high risk groups to promote correct and consistent condom use, advocate for early treatment of STI's and intensify awareness of HIV and Aids. The project will do this by doing the following;-

- Through Contact and training initiative, the center will organize the mobilization of different target groups and the community at large through workshops and meetings.

- Through Out reach programs, to address activities that are organized in the community to reach out to people on HIV and Aids issues in novel way such as theatre, sports, campaigns, open days etc.

- Through Health Service, in an endeavor to curb the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STI's), STI information service among other related topics.

- Through Opinion forming activities, in an effort to avoid duplication of work and influence opinions, hold regular meetings with and work together with government departments and NGO's and Stake holders in the community.

- Through Operation research will serve as a platform for operational research such as survey of condoms use, research on the extent of preventive education amongst identified groups.
