Training for TCE Future leadersHumana empowers its staff members in every way possible, TCE staff members attended a 6 days workshop at Kwa-Zulu Natal Experimental College.
From the month of April 2009, TCE staff has attended 6 days workshop at Kwa-Zulu Natal Experimental College. The training is funded by Belgium Development Cooperation. The objective of the training is to strengthen the capacity of TCE Staff to deal with the HIV and AIDS epidemic in the provinces of Limpopo, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, KZN and Eastern Cape. So far the main activities have been to train sessions with the future TCE leaders, networking with the local leaders in events which directly deal with HIV & AIDS. So far, 23 TCE staff members have attended the 6 day workshops.
The TCE staff itself has carried out workshops aimed at increasing the capacity to deal with HIV & AIDS at community level. The local leaders have been trained on basic information about HIV and AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections, Tuberculosis and what is means to be a TCE Passionate – a community term for a TCE volunteer.
The 23 TCE staff members in the training are mainly Special Forces in the leadership units. TCE plans that Troop Commanders and Division Commanders will also attend the workshop 2 times a year, and afterwards continue their education at the projects. |
