Child Aid Bakenberg

Child Aid Bakenberg was established in 2006, under the Mogalakwena Municipality within the Waterberg District of Limpopo Province. The project continued in the wake of HPP SA’s HIV and AIDS prevention, care and support programme, Total Control of the Epidemic/TCE in Waterberg. This was after HPP SA entered into a partnership with European Union and Department of Health to deliver a primary health care package in Leyden Village, Bakenberg. In addition to it reinforcing specific HIV and AIDS programmes of, the project has worked to empower the target community and its children with the know how to develop their community.
 
The project serves as a central point allowing members access to necessary facilities, skills training, youth development and health education, and also functions as a central venue for culture events and community meeting. Child Aid Bakenberg has outreach to 3,000 families. The project has staff of 23 employees and 300 volunteers.
