The Long Walk to Prevention: Every Voice Counts
Humana People to People South Africa (HPPSA) is taking part in the 8th Southern African AIDS Conference, which is being held from the 13th to the 15th of June 2017 in Durban ICC. The conference is a gathering for those working in the field of HIV, as well as policy makers, people living with HIV and other individuals committed to ending the epidemic.

Every year, 4,300 mothers die due to complications of pregnancy and childbirth, 20,000 babies are stillborn and another 23,000 die in their first month of life.
The malaria risk map released by the Department of Health shows that there is a moderate risk of contracting the disease in some parts of South Africa – the far north of KwaZulu-Natal Province bordering Mozambique, the lowveld areas of Mpumalanga Province including the Kruger National Park but excluding Nelspruit and White River, and the north-eastern parts of Limpopo Province.
In August, South Africa celebrates 2016 Women's Month, the annual commemoration that celebrates more than 20 000 women who marched to the Union Buildings on 9 August 1956 in protest against the extension of Pass Laws to women.
